The A' Design Awards is the world's largest design competition awarding best designs, design concepts and products and services around the world. The winners represented 88 countries and were judged by an 83-person grand jury panel consisting of internationally influential press members, established designers, leading academics and established professionals. The awards were announced in Como, Italy.
This is the third win in a row for Megadyne's Zip Pen, having recently won first place in the Excellence in Surgical Products (ESP) Awards, as well as a medical technology design innovation award from the Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design's GOOD DESIGN Awards competition. The Zip Pen features patented functions for ergonomics, product performance and aesthetics, while effortlessly removing surgical smoke in a highly ergonomic manner unlike any other surgical smoke removal pencil.
The A' Design Award & Competition was developed after scientific research study and survey of over five-hundred designers and brands who take part in design competitions.
Megadyne's winning entry, the Zip Pen, provides surgeons with comfortable and precise electrosurgery while minimizing the hazards of surgical smoke. Unlike other smoke evacuation devices, ZIP Pen offers customized ergonomic adjustability for maximum comfort and functionality. ZIP Pen is the only surgical smoke pen with the ability to remove 100% of the tubing torque from the back of the pencil. Zip Pen is loaded with features, including large activation buttons, full 360º swivel capabilities and a safety grip for comfort and control. A one-size-fits-most connector allows easy connection to most evacuator units.
