Megan Wurz Honored for Community Service and Easter Seals Involvement

Sales Manager for Hotel Near Downtown Milwaukee, WI Develops Working Partnership

OAK CREEK, WI--(Marketwire - Jan 16, 2013) - Megan Wurz, regional sales manager for a premier hotel near downtown Milwaukee, WI and other properties of the WISCO Hotel Group was recently honored for her community involvement with Easter Seals by Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch.

Wurz, while maintaining her position at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Milwaukee Airport hotel and other WISCO properties, has been working with Easters Seals on a variety of levels, most significantly as the common denominator in facilitating the partnership developed between the hotel group and the Easter Seals' Southeastern Wisconsin branch. Instrumental in bolstering the combined efforts of these two organizations, she has played a major role in hosting an inclusive fall event for children with disabilities, supporting the charity's Autism Awareness campaign and working with contract services at the Easter Seals' Workforce Center.

In working with Easter Seals and recognizing the importance of its Workforce Center, Wurz was able to find a solution for what had become a labor-intensive project for associates of the Milwaukee, WI hotel suites. With guests as their highest priority, associates of the Fairfield Inn and Suites were becoming overwhelmed with keeping a steady supply of gift bags for hotel guests, special groups and other preferred customers that included a bottle of privately labeled water and a snack in a hotel branded bag. Ordering supply, filling the bags and adding a decorative ribbon was taking employees away from guest services. Once Wurz became aware of the Easter Seals' Workforce Center and the quality and dependability of its production force, she realized a great opportunity for helping both the Easter Seals program and the Fairfield Inn & Suites Milwaukee Airport. Now, with the Fairfield Inn & Suites purchasing their fully assembled Marriott Rewards gift bags from the Workforce Center, which also maintains a private label water program, associates of both organizations are more productive.

"Easter Seals is experienced, knowledgeable and cost-effective," said Wurz. "They have helped us to better serve our guests and by using their services, I know we are giving to a good organization that is helping individuals with disabilities get training and jobs."

The Workforce Center now handles this project in its entirety for WISCO's Fairfield Inn & Suites Milwaukee Airport hotel as well as meeting similar needs for their other hotel properties which include the Holiday Express Inn, Comfort Suites and Candlewood Suites. Products and services provided include private label bottled water, gift bags, in-house printing, assembly and shipping.

Easter Seals is the leading non-profit provider of services for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and other special needs and for more than 75 years has been offering help and hope to children and adults living with disabilities and their families in Southeastern Wisconsin.
