Megola Introduces AF31: A Multi-Purpose Fire Extinguishing and Inhibiting Agent

CORUNNA, ON -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 10, 2007 -- Megola Inc. (PINKSHEETS: MGOA), a leading environmental solution provider, is pleased to introduce another of its newly acquired Anti-Fire products, AF31, a multi-purpose, water-based, non-toxic, non-corrosive and environmentally friendly fire extinguishing and inhibiting agent.

AF31 was developed through many years of research and testing after analyzing the drawbacks of all conventional fire fighting media, such as water, dry powder, foam, halon and carbon dioxide. Attention was focused on the weaknesses and limitations of all these media in terms of reignition, environmental impact and toxicity to humans, animals and plants. AF31 answers all these concerns.

AF31 Fights Fires and Prevents Reignition

As a multi-purpose fire extinguishing agent, AF31 will quickly and safely knock down fires of all classes (A, B, C, D and K). It can be delivered using all types of water dispersal equipment, including fire extinguisher cylinders, sprinkler systems, fire trucks, water-bombing aircraft and backpack sprayers. Once a fire is extinguished, the inhibiting action of AF31 does not allow the fire to reignite. This is a major advantage and important safety consideration in fire fighting, especially when battling liquid fuel (B class) fires. In the event of a building fire, the use of AF31 can allow escape routes to be established and maintained during fire fighting and rescue operations.

AF31 for Forest Fires

Due to its fire inhibiting characteristics, AF31 is used to create fire breaks in advance of oncoming forest fires and can also be sprayed on vulnerable structures to help prevent the spread of fire and loss of property. When used in this manner, AF31 adheres to the surface of trees, plants and building materials, remaining active until washed away by the next rain. It has been used extensively in this capacity in Indonesia, where it has been employed using various water-bombing aircraft and by ground crews since 1997.

AF31 and the Environment

AF31 is non-toxic to plants, animals or humans and, once washed away, it quickly biodegrades in the environment (OECD 302B). For this reason, AF31 is also perfectly suited for training purposes as no special cleanup procedures are associated with its use. Oilfields, refineries, fire departments and the military, to name a few, could benefit from its environmentally friendly characteristics.
