LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - March 14, 2011) - Former Spice Girl Mel B was in London this week to officially launch International Fitness Week which gets underway on Monday March 14.

The launch, at Old Spitalfields Market, was marked with a workout to Mel's own group exercise class Get Fit with Mel B, one of the most popular classes of its kind in the UK.

Mel B is an enthusiastic ambassador for the week and now heads to Singapore and Malaysia to launch the week to an international audience.

"We've really made some fabulous progress over the last few years encouraging more people to find something they like and make exercise part of their everyday life," said Mel. "I'm proud to be a part of it and everything it stands for."

The week runs from March 14th-20th and is powered by Fitness First, the world's largest gym group, which opens its doors for the week for anyone to sample the clubs and learn more about improving their health and fitness.
