Melinda K. Holman Nominated for TIME Dealer of the Year Award

The Award Is One of the Automobile Industry's Most Prestigious and Highly Coveted Honors

MT LAUREL, NJ--(Marketwire - Oct 25, 2012) - Holman Automotive Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that President and CEO Melinda K. (Mindy) Holman has been nominated for 2013 TIME Dealer of the Year award sponsored by TIME in partnership with Ally Financial. Holman is one of a select group of 57 dealer nominees from across the country who will be honored at the 96th annual National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention & Exposition in Orlando, Florida, on February 9, 2013. Holman is being honored for her long-standing commitment to community service and her significant accomplishments within the industry.

"This is an honor and privilege to be recognized along with my fellow nominees," said Holman. "I am fortunate to be a part of our family business which values its people and its community. As our company has grown, we have been able to expand the opportunities for learning and advancement that we offer people within our organization; the most rewarding aspect of my job is to provide people with the chance to develop and cultivate successful, meaningful long term careers."

"We also have been able to increase our commitment to the communities that support our businesses as we have grown," Holman continued. "Our employees are incredibly generous, and more than anything else, I am exceedingly proud of the positive impact we have had -- and will continue to have -- in the communities where we all work and live."

Recipients of the TIME Dealer of the Year award are among the nation's most successful auto dealers who also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service. Holman was nominated by James Appleton, president of the New Jersey Coalition of Automotive Retailers, to represent that organization in the national competition, and is one of only 57 auto dealers from 17,000 nationwide nominated for the 44th annual award. The award is sponsored by TIME in association with Ally Financial, and in cooperation with NADA. A panel of faculty members from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan will select one finalist from each of the four NADA regions and one national Dealer of the Year.

A 1978 graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey, Holman earned a B.A. from the College of William and Mary and an M.S. from Old Dominion University, both in Virginia. She joined the company in 1986, serving in various positions, including General Manager, at different dealerships throughout the Holman organization. She assumed the duties of President of Holman Enterprises, Inc. on February 1, 2002, and in May 2004, assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Long active in the community, Holman serves as a trustee for the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, the Community Foundation of South Jersey and Moorestown Friends School. She also recently served as co-chair of the group that helped merge seven smaller United Way offices into the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, and was recognized for her work on this committee with the 2012 United Way John C. Haas Regional Champion Medal. She is deeply committed to the work of the United Way and the positive, lasting change it can bring through its core focus on education, income and heath. In 2011, she led the United Way campaign at Holman Automotive and raised more than $1 million, the first million-dollar campaign in the history of Camden County.

Her commitment to the community has not gone unrecognized. In addition to receiving the Haas Medal in 2012, she has received numerous other awards, including the American Heart Association's Executive Award of Excellence for her support of the "Go Red for Women" movement, the National Association of Women Business Owners' Shattered the Glass Ceiling Award, and the Arthritis Foundation of Southern New Jersey's Humanitarian of the Year award.
