Melkior Acquires 141 Claims in Otish and Updates

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 13, 2006) - Melkior Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MKR).

Melkior has acquired a 100% interest in 141 claims totaling 7469 hectares in the Otish area of Quebec which is currently an active area for diamond and uranium exploration. The claims were map staked at a total cost of $15,917.

Previous work by Melkior in the area has identified significant kimberlite indicator minerals originating on land which at the time was owned by other companies. The claims cover at least five previously identified kimberlite targets with coincident indicators and magnetic anomalies. A number of the claims are adjacent to the north contact of the Otish basin which is currently the focus of active uranium exploration. The companies owning adjacent properties are Ashton Diamonds (Canada) Inc., Diaquem Inc., Golden Valley Mines Ltd., Ditem Exploration Inc., Antoro Resources Inc, Eastmain Resources Inc. and Resources MSV Inc.

Melkior's director, Lee Barker states "The discovery of 34 kimberlitic ilminites on one target that is down-ice from a small lake coincident with a bulls-eye magnetic anomaly is highly significant. These results were found in a previous sampling program by Melkior and because a portion of the target was not available at the time no further exploration activities were undertaken. Melkior now has a claim group which covers the entire target area. Winter geophysical surveys are planned."

Melkior understands that a permanent road is being planned to access the area.
