Memorial Motorcade for Our Fallen Comrade Schedule

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 2, 2010) - The motorcade carrying our fallen comrade, Corporal Brian Pinksen from 2nd Battalion, The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, based in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, will be travelling on Highway 401 West, this afternoon.

Cpl. Pinksen died of his wounds at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany on Monday, August 30th, 2010.

Cpl. Pinksen sustained his injuries when an improvised explosive device detonated during a routine patrol in the Panjwa'i District, southwest of Kandahar City at approximately 1:40 p.m., Kandahar time on August 22, 2010.

He was serving with 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group.

The aircraft carrying our fallen comrade will arrive at 8 Wing, CFB Trenton at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. The motorcade is expected to leave the base no later than 3:00 p.m. and travelling west on the "Highway of Heroes," is expected to arrive in Toronto at approximately 5:00 p.m. Motorists are advised this may cause a delay in rush-hour traffic.
