Memphis Flea Market Returning to Little Rock Area in April

"The Big One" Finds New Site in Capital Region After Five-Year Absence

MEMPHIS, TN--(Marketwire - February 3, 2010) - The Memphis Flea Market, known as "The Big One," is set to return to the Little Rock, Ark., area in April after a five-year absence.

The flea market will be held April 10 and 11 at the former Wal-Mart building, 612 J.P. Wright Loop Road, at the Jacksonville exit of Little Rock Air Force Base near Little Rock's northeast suburbs. The flea market will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. that Saturday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. that Sunday.

"We are very excited to be returning to Little Rock, where the flea market was so popular for more than a decade," said General Manager Sandy Hembree. "We hope to have as many as 500 vendors and look forward to seeing lots of folks stop by."

Hembree said the flea market thrived at the former Little Rock Expo Center for more than a decade but had been unable to find a suitable replacement once that building was sold.

Prospective vendors for the April 10 and 11 flea market can contact Hembree at either (901) 276-3532 or (501) 262-1167.

The Memphis Flea Market, known as "The Big One," is also continuing its normal monthly operating schedule at the Mid-South Fairgrounds in Memphis. The next Memphis Flea Market is Feb. 20 and 21 at the fairgrounds.

The Big One attracts more than 600 vendors and thousands of shoppers. It features everything from old to new, including but not limited to antiques, jewelry, collectibles, sports cards, computers, produce, framed pictures, floral arrangements, clothing, furniture, home accessories, rugs, candles, toys, crafts, pet supplies, and leather goods.
