Men & Mice Signs Co-Operation Agreement With BT

LONDON -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 18, 2005 -- Men & Mice, a Nordic networking solutions company with main operations in the US and Europe, and with core competence in domain name systems (DNS) research, software, training and consultancy, today announced that it has signed a long term co-operation agreement with BT Global Services for its Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), IP Address Management and Performance Monitoring software.

Following a competitive tender, Men & Mice's selection was strengthened by the rich capabilities of its product suite and its ability to easily integrate with BT's operational support systems (OSS) programme which supports BT Transform, a business platform for all communications, basic processes and business applications based upon a worldwide IP infrastructure.

BT's OSS programme for the BT Transform service is targeted at blue chip clients and is designed to automate manual processes, make network operations easier and provide the benefits of well-integrated service-oriented architectures (SOAs). The elements selected for deployment will vary according to the requirements of the customer in question and hence the architecture provides for great flexibility.

Pete Carruthers, director of Major Client Solutions, BT Global Services, said: "BT is recognised by the industry as a global player in providing high quality network centric services. We mean to grow and build on our reputation by providing new and innovative applications which align with our key strengths and customers' requirements.

"Using the Men & Mice product suite allows BT to offer even more reliable, scaleable and secure managed or outsourced services for DNS and IP address management in a UNIX or Microsoft environment. This service will be the key as we accelerate toward converged network infrastructures, placing even greater emphasis on identity and security management. The integration of the expert monitoring and reporting tools from Men & Mice with our next generation intelligent network OSS is another component to BT's vision of delivering greater value in our digital networked economy."

Jon Adalsteinsson, Men & Mice co-founder, said: "The Agreement with BT is an important recognition of the leadership position we have in DNS/DHCP and IP address management. Our solutions fit especially well in an outsourcing setting because they allow fast deployment, tight integration with back-end systems and processes and high return on investment."
