Merchant Risk Council Selects Greg Goeckner as New Executive Director

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Apr 28, 2011) - After a six-month, nationwide search, Seattle-area resident Greg Goeckner has been selected as the next Executive Director of the Merchant Risk Council (MRC), a global, merchant-led trade association focused on electronic commerce payments and risk.

"We screened over a hundred applicants from every corner of the country, and ironically, the perfect candidate was right in our backyard," said Tom Sullivan, Sr. Director of Global Payments and Risk for Expedia, Inc. and MRC Board Chairman.

Goeckner joins the MRC from a long and distinguished career at the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), a trade association that advocates for the artistic freedoms of filmmakers and works with the industry to protect intellectual property rights, while advancing technology-driven innovation.

"As you drill down to the mission, goals and objectives of the MPAA, it's really quite amazing how similar it is to the MRC," said Sullivan, "both organizations advocate for positive change within their respective industries to protect their members and catalyze growth."
