Merchant Risk Council Unveils New Board

Leaders From Preeminent Industry Brands Join MRC Board

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - July 15, 2010) -  The Merchant Risk Council (MRC), a merchant-led trade association focused on electronic commerce risk and payments globally, announces the results of their 2010-2011 board elections.

These newly elected members join a roster of leading e-Commerce brands, financial institutions and technology companies. Together they will lead the MRC as it builds upon its foundation of providing educational forums, best practices, research and development, and advocacy to more than 800 members worldwide on topics such as online fraud prevention, data security, payment strategies and performance benchmarking.

Karl Hebert, Director, Big Fish Games, has been re-elected as Board Treasurer.

Earlier this year, the MRC expanded operations into Europe, created a European Advisory Board, hired a Managing Director for Europe, Nicolas Vedrenne, and amended its bylaws to assure that a European-based merchant holds a seat as a Global Board Director. The MRC's European Advisory Board meets at the MRC's Inaugural European e-Commerce Payments and Risk Conference September 1-3, 2010 in Amsterdam.

The MRC Global Board of Directors and the Americas Advisory Board will next convene at the Merchant Risk Council's Semi-Annual Platinum Meeting and 10th Anniversary Celebration in Austin, Tex, September 29 through October 1, 2010.

The brands representing the MRC Global Directors include: Accertify, Big Fish Games, Chase Paymentech, CyberSource, Expedia, Microsoft, Neiman Marcus, Symantec and Visa.
