MerchantCircle Adds Director of Search Audience and Community Manager to Growing Team

Mark Munroe Returns After Five Year Hiatus While Robyn Hannah Joins to Engage Member Base

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - May 6, 2010) -  MerchantCircle, the largest social network of local business owners, today announced that it has welcomed back Mark Munroe to the executive team as its Director of Search Audience and also has hired Robyn Hannah as its Sr. Manager of Community.

Munroe brings more than a decade of product management and product marketing experience to MerchantCircle and will work on helping smaller merchants gain more exposure online. Most notably, leveraging the enormous amount of unique content created on the MerchantCircle platform to attract more consumers to more merchants.

Munroe previously worked at MerchantCircle in the early days of the company's formation in 2005. Since then, he has spent time at RealTravel as Director of Product Management, as E-Commerce Product Manager at Dealix and as Director of Online Marketing at Vayama.com. He holds an MS in Computing Management from Polytechnic University. Currently residing in Palo Alto, Munroe frequents Sprout Cafe and Fraiche Yogurt and as required, Kevin's Auto Repair in Mountain View.

Robyn Hannah will work to expand MerchantCircle's national community of merchants by developing and implementing programs that increase merchant engagement. Additionally, Hannah will act as a merchant advocate to ensure continued customer satisfaction. She previously served as a marketing communications manager at YouSendIt where she was responsible for corporate communications, social media and promoting brand identity. A Bay Area native and San Jose resident, Hannah is a graduate of San Jose State University and claims Mona Lisa Hair, Aqui Cal Mex and Two Small Farms as her favorite local merchants.

"We're really pleased to have these two talented individuals join the MerchantCircle team at this critical juncture in our growth," said Ben Smith IV, Chairman and Co-Founder of MerchantCircle. "Mark was with us at the beginning and deeply understands our mission of helping small business owners. Similarly, Robyn Hannah will add a much needed piece to our marketing team acting as liaison to our highly engaged membership."
