Merck Consumer Care Presents the ALLERGY RELIEF HOUSE

MONTREAL, QC--(Marketwired - September 12, 2013) - Merck Consumer Care invites the media to the Merck ALLERGY RELIEF HOUSE, a house constructed specifically to provide the general public with easy access to useful information on allergy symptoms and allergy symptom relief products.

Following stops in Vancouver and Toronto, the Allergy Relief House will be making its final stop at Complexe Desjardins from September 16 to 22.

Dr. Marie-Josée Francoeur, Allergist with the Hôpital Charles LeMoyne, will be present to conduct interviews about allergy triggers, symptoms and relief treatment on Monday, September 16, 2013 between 10 am and 4 pm at Complexe Desjardins.

Over 7 days, the public will be guided by the Allergy Relief House team through different rooms of the house to learn more about seasonal and year-round allergy triggers and symptoms.

Upon entering the house, consumers will be greeted by a brand ambassador, who will give them a digital questionnaire about their allergies to quickly assess their needs. They will then receive a personalized profile of their allergy-sufferer type. People will also have the chance to take a close-up look at allergens, projected on a 3D TV screen, that will demonstrate the impact of allergens in the human body.

Consumers will be then directed to either the Aerius® or Claritin® rooms.

In the Aerius® Room, people can view allergens through microscopes, get more information about the brand, and learn tips for managing their allergy symptoms.

In the Claritin® Room, consumers will be invited to participate in a digital quiz about indoor and outdoor allergies. The questions will also help visitors learn how to better control their individual allergy symptoms.

Next, consumers will visit the hydraSense® Room, where informative videos will teach them how to properly use the products, and where ambassadors will share general information about the importance of nasal saline solutions in treating allergy symptoms.

Finally, participants and allergy sufferers -- or those who have someone they know affected by allergies -- will be invited to visit the outdoor Health section. In this section, they will have the opportunity to meet with an allergist, who will answer their questions and provide key information on different options for allergy management.

The objective of the Allergy Relief House is to provide key information on allergy symptoms, symptom relief options and Merck Consumer Care products
