Meredith Moss Joins King & Spalding

Firm Builds Up Professional Liability and Securities Litigation Practices With the Addition of 12 Lateral Partners Over the Past 18 Months

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - March 23, 2010) -  Continuing a steady build-up in its professional liability litigation and securities litigation practices, King & Spalding announced today that Meredith Moss has joined the firm as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office. She becomes the 12th lateral partner added to these practice areas in six U.S. offices over the past 18 months, including five partners since the beginning of February.

Moss focuses on complex commercial litigation and regulatory proceedings, with an emphasis on financial reporting, accounting and securities-related matters for clients that include Big Four accounting firms. She joins King & Spalding from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where she was a partner.

Moss has extensive experience representing professional services firms, public companies, individual officers and directors, and investment banks in a variety of state and federal jurisdictions, including motion practice, discovery and trial. She has had significant involvement with issues relating to electronic discovery, including litigating disputes and advising clients in advance of litigation. Moss also has experience planning and conducting independent investigations, and she regularly represents clients in dealings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, SROs (self-regulatory organizations) and U.S. attorneys. She received a J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. degree, cum laude, from the University of Utah.

King & Spalding's core practices of professional liability litigation and securities litigation have been areas of strategic focus at the firm for a number of years. The arrival of Moss, along with the addition of a number of other accomplished litigators over the last year and a half, has bolstered the firm's capabilities in those practice areas. Contributing to the firm's growing reputation in the fields of professional liability litigation and securities litigation are recent lateral partners James J. Capra, Jr., James P. Cusick and David M. Fine, in New York; Diana L. Weiss and Kenneth Y. Turnbull, in Washington, D.C.; Timothy T. Scott and Geoffrey M. Ezgar, in Silicon Valley; John A. Chandler and Elizabeth V. Tanis, in Atlanta; and Geoffrey R. Unger, in Austin. In addition, Paul D. Clement, the former Solicitor General of the United States and King & Spalding's national appellate practice leader in Washington, D.C., has been involved in several appeals on behalf of Big Four firms.
