Meridian in Visionaries Quadrant of 2009 Corporate Learning Systems Magic Quadrant

CHANTILLY, VA--(Marketwire - October 1, 2009) - Meridian Knowledge Solutions LLC has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the "visionaries" quadrant of the 2009 Magic Quadrant for Corporate Learning Systems (LMS) report(1). The Corporate Learning Systems Magic Quadrant provides a synopsis of and advice about software firms that deliver, analyze and manage training via the web.

"Because we invest considerable resources in R&D vis-à-vis our competitors we have been able to develop an LMS that stands ahead of the pack in terms of social learning, collaboration and mobile delivery of learning," said Roy Haythorn, vice president of Meridian Operations. "Our vision has been to create an LMS with the capabilities that our clients need today as well as in the future."

For its latest Magic Quadrant report, Gartner evaluated Meridian's flagship LMS -- Meridian Global LMS, which gives managers an easy-to-use software platform for putting in place training programs for employees, business partners and customers; carrying out employee performance reviews; and, building online business communities.

Gartner's Magic Quadrant positions vendors between vertical and horizontal axes with the horizontal axis representing completeness of vision and the vertical axis indicating ability to execute. In 2009, on the completeness-of-vision axis, Gartner particularly evaluated software systems based on the comprehensiveness of a vendor's offering. Vendors with software systems that presented more effective components and capabilities generally improved in the areas of analytics, learner ease-of-use and support for structured social and informal learning.
