Meridian Knowledge Solutions Earns Second Award of Excellence for Best Enterprise LMS

CHANTILLY, VA--(Marketwire - February 3, 2010) - For the second consecutive year, readers of Elearning! Magazine gave Meridian Knowledge Solutions' Meridian Global LMS (Learning Management System) a Best of Elearning! Excellence Award in the category "Best Enterprise LMS." Meridian was one of only five companies worldwide to earn an award in this year's Enterprise LMS group.

"E-learning executives and professionals worldwide selected the Meridian Global LMS as a Best of Elearning! finalist for 2009," said Catherine Upton, group publisher of Elearning! Magazine. "There is no greater honor than to be recognized by the executives and business managers who use your products and services."

The staff of Elearning! Magazine received more than 1,755 nominations for the 2009 readers' choice awards. Readers selected 55 products to receive Awards of Excellence. From Best Learning Management System to Best Virtual Classroom, these products rank as "Best in Class" according to executives and e-learning users.

In 2009, Meridian released the newest edition of Meridian Global LMS, which delivers, analyzes and manages training via the Internet for learners both inside and outside a company's walls.

"Most employers look at a learning management system as a way to train an internal audience of employees," said Bryan Chapman, chief learning strategist for Chapman Alliance, a learning-technologies consultancy. "But with a combination of consumer-friendly features and functions, employers can market -- and charge for -- external training, including teaching management strategies to franchisees, instructing customers how to get more from products, or providing members of trade associations with certification training."

"We've made Meridian's LMS equally valuable for training employees, an employer's customers and even an organization's business partners," says Roy Haythorn, vice president of Meridian Operations. "Our product's versatility along with the ease with which people can upgrade from one version to another have helped us earn not only the confidence of our customers but also a second straight Best of Elearning! award."

Meridian and its learning management system (LMS) also garnered the following kudos in 2009:

-- Listed in "visionaries" quadrant of Gartner's Magic Quadrant for
        Corporate Learning Systems; and,
-- Named a "Top Training and Simulation Company" by Military Training
        Technology magazine.
