Meru Networks Appoints Industry Veterans to Accelerate WLAN Adoption in Vertical Markets

Top Industry Talent to Support Sales and Growth Opportunities in Target Vertical Markets of Education and Hospitality


SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 19, 2012) - Meru Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: MERU), a leader in virtualized 802.11 enterprise wireless networking, today announced it has promoted from within the company's executive leadership two new General Managers to guide market strategy and adoption in the K-12, Higher Education, and Hospitality and Entertainment markets. In addition, the company has also appointed a new Vice President of Vertical and Product Marketing. The appointments come as the company strengthens its sales, marketing and product development focusing on target vertical markets.

Sarosh Vesuna has been appointed General Manager of Education. Vesuna has been with Meru for four years, most recently serving as the Vice President of Business Development. Vesuna has deep industry expertise in voice over IP, location systems, mobility management, and network security. He co-authored the IEEE 802.11 WLAN protocol and co-founded the Wi-Fi Alliance, where he served on the board of directors for five years.

Kamal Anand has also been appointed to the new role of General Manager of Hospitality and Entertainment. Prior to this new role, Anand was Senior Vice President of Product Management where he was responsible for the leading the company's product strategy. Anand has brought to Meru a breadth of experience, including product management, marketing, sales, and developing and managing corporate initiatives including strategic relationships and mergers and acquisitions.

New hire Manish Rai, previously head of industry solution marketing at Aruba Networks, has been appointed to the position of Vice President of Vertical and Product Marketing. Rai brings over 14 years of experience in global enterprise wireless networking and software marketing, with a proven record in growing revenues and market share for both start-ups and public corporations. He brings to Meru deep expertise in executing high growth go-to-market strategies within multiple industries.

  • Prior to Vesuna joining Meru Networks, he served as Senior Director of Strategy and Business Development at Motorola, where he was responsible for acquisitions, partnerships and the overall direction of the company's WLAN business.
