Message Systems Named to Inc. 5000 and Garners Stevie International Business Award

Leader in Digital Messaging Takes Place Among America's Fastest-Growing Companies, Flagship Product Offering Named One of the World's Best New Products

COLUMBIA, MD--(Marketwired - Sep 3, 2013) - Message Systems, the global leader in digital messaging software, has been named a winner in two of the world's most prestigious business award competitions. In mid-August, Message Systems was announced as number 3194 on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing companies, and earlier in the month the company's Momentum+ digital messaging platform received a Silver Stevie International Business Award in the category of Best New Product - B2B. The Inc. awards also placed Message Systems as number 83 of the Top 100 Telecommunications Companies, number 92 among Top 100 Maryland Companies and number 43 in the Baltimore Metro Area. Additionally, an independent follow-up assessment of the Inc. awards by online publication Email Expert named Message Systems to its list of America's 10+ Fastest Growing Email Companies.

"Recognition from the Inc. 5000 awards and the Stevies is welcome validation of the hard work the Message Systems team has contributed to building the company into the success story it's become," said George Schlossnagle, president and CEO of Message Systems. "We were particularly happy to be recognized as a growth leader in the Baltimore metro and wider Maryland areas, a region with a thriving and fast-growing technology sector. I send my thanks to the judges behind the Stevies and Inc. 5000 awards, and also to everyone on the Message Systems team who made these wins possible."

In a letter to Message Systems, Eric Schurenberg, editor-in-chief of Inc. Magazine, wrote, "For 32 years, Inc. has welcomed the fastest-growing private companies in America into a very exclusive club. Make no mistake: The Inc. 5000 was harder to get into this year than ever in its history. Congratulations to you and your team. You should be proud of all Message Systems has achieved to date."

The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth from 2009 through 2012. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009. Additionally, a company must have been U.S.-based, privately held, for profit and independent. Revenue in 2009 must have been at least $100,000 with revenue of at least $2 million in 2012. The Stevie Awards were created to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and working people worldwide. Individual criteria differ by category, but the emphasis is on the overall quality of the entry. The name Stevie is taken from the name Stephen, which is derived from the Greek for "crowned."

Message Systems today also debuted a new video: Say Hi to your Customers with Message Systems. The animated short relates the company's unique solution set that enables companies to manage all customer-oriented digital messaging channels from a single platform. Steve Dille, senior VP of marketing at Message Systems, noted that the video "is a quick, fun take on how Message Systems is helping companies more effectively reach and engage today's on-the-go, smartphone-equipped customers. I encourage everyone interested in mobile engagement and digital messaging strategies to check it out."

Reflecting back on the value it brings to its customers, the company also announced the first annual Message Systems Customer Excellence Awards program. In reciprocation of the recognition Message Systems has received through the Inc. 5000 and Stevie awards, the company will, at its upcoming Interact 2013: Connect conference beginning October 8th in San Diego, bestow customer awards in four categories. The Product Improvement Award will go to the customer that has helped improve the product they use by providing direct feedback to the Message Systems engineering and product teams. The Innovation Award recognizes a customer whose innovative use of more than one Message Systems solution delivers measurable benefits to their organization. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes the customer who has a long term and continuous commitment to Message Systems.
