Metabetchouan-Lac-a-la-Croix Inaugurates New Facilities of Le Rigolet Recreational Tourism Centre

MÉTABETCHOUAN-LAC-À-LA-CROIX, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 17, 2014) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, welcomes the official opening of the renovated Le Rigolet recreational tourism centre.

It will be recalled that $356,384 in non-repayable funding was granted to Société des loisirs de Métabetchouan-Lac-à-la-Croix through Canada Economic Development's Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund for the renovation work.

Quick facts

  • The financial assistance served to, among other things, move the snack bar and restroom facilities to another part of the building to allow for the expansion of the community hall and to add storage space and a cold room to the Véloroute way station.
  • This project is expected to generate such positive spinoffs as higher visitor traffic, longer operating hours and increased economic activity in the municipality.
