Metalflex Receives Funding From Government of Canada to Acquire Specialized Equipment

VAL-ALAIN, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Nov. 8, 2011) - Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière–Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, today announced that the firm Métalflex Inc. was granted $390,000 in repayable financial assistance through the Community Adjustment Fund for the acquisition of leading-edge equipment.

"The Government of Canada is committed to supporting enterprises that, like Métalflex Inc., are equipping themselves with the tools they need to grow and carrying out activities that help strengthen their regions," said Mr. Gourde.

A startup enterprise, Métalflex is a subcontractor specializing in automated metal laser cutting and folding for steel processors.

The Community Adjustment Fund was a $1 billion national support measure established under Canada's Economic Action Plan to fund job-creating projects in communities affected by the economic slowdown. The assistance provided to Métalflex through the Fund will help strengthen and further the growth of the materials processing industry, a priority sector for the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
