Metanor: Appointment of Raymond Couture, Director - Granting of Stock Options

VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 9, 2005) - Metanor Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MTO) announces a change in the composition of its Board of Directors. The Board has appointed Mr. Raymond Couture to replace Ms. Francine Gaudreault, who resigned from her position as Director and Chair of the Auditing Committee.

Mr. Couture holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from ENAP and Universite Laval, respectively. He held the position of General Manager of College Saint-Charles-Gamier from 1992 to 1995 and of various school boards (Fermont, Thetford-Mines and de l'Amiante, from 1974 to 1995). He has served on the boards of several public companies (including Visionic Inc.).

The Board would like to thank Ms. Gaudreault for her excellent work and for her contribution to the company since her appointment. Ms. Gaudreault will remain available to advise the Auditing Committee. Accordingly, the directors have decided that Ms. Gaudreault will keep the stock options she holds for a period of 30 months following the date of her resignation.

The members of the Board of Directors granted an option concerning 180,000 shares to Ms. Andree de Kertanguy, Investor Relations Consultant. The exercise price for the option is $0.81. The option will expire in 24 months. A service agreement, for a one-year renewable term, has been signed between Metanor and Ms. de Kertanguy. The latter will be responsible for relations with European investors.
