Metanor: Aquisition of a Property Next to the Bachelor Lake Mine Property, Desmaraisville, Quebec

VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - May 20, 2005) - Metanor Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MTO) announces that under the terms of a letter of intent, Aur Resources Inc. has granted Metanor the option to acquire the Hewfran property, adjoining the Bachelor Lake property.

This agreement between Metanor and Aur states that Metanor can acquire a 100 % interest in the Hewfran property by spending a total of 1 600 000$ in exploration work over a three year period; 200 000 $ is to be spent on the first year, 400 000 $ on the second year and 1 000 000 $ on the third year. Payments are also to be made as follows 75 000 $ on signing the final agreement, 100 000 $ after 24 months and 200 000 $ after 36 months, payable in either cash or shares of Metanor at the discretion of Metanor. A 2 % NSR is also included to the deal, of which 1 % can be bought back for 1 000 000 $. This agreement is subject to regulatory approval.

The Hewfran Property is located in the Lesueur Township, Desmaraisville sector (Province of Quebec). The claims covers an area of 683 hectares, and are contiguous to the Bachelor Gold Mine infrastructures. The Hewfran Property was explored in the late 80's from two underground drifts which were driven from the Bachelor Gold Mine (6th and 8th levels) and numerous diamond drill holes both from surface and underground were also completed. This exploration effort led by Aur Resources yielded an estimate gold resource of 594 000 short tons grading 0,17 oz/st Au or about 100 900 ounces of gold (as reported by Aur Resources in June 1989). This resource estimate was prepared by Aur personnel prior to the implementation of National Instrument 43-101, and is not compliant to NI 43-101.

The Hewfran gold resource, which is located to the immediate west of the former Bachelor Gold Mine is accessible from the underground workings of the Bachelor Gold Mine. An updated resource evaluation of the Bachelor Gold Mine was recently completed and yielded measured and indicated resources of 421 139 st grading 0,287 oz/st Au, along with an inferred gold resource of 256 285 st grading 0,304 oz/st Au, for total mineral resources estimated at 677 424 short tons grading 0.293 oz/st Au for approximately 200 000 ounces of gold. A technical report was compiled on the project by Innovexplo Inc. to complete the due diligence study under the direction of Alain Carrier, P. Geologist and Yves Gagnon, P. Engineer, two qualified persons within the meaning of NI 43-101(filed on Sedar on January 28, 2005).

Under an option agreement to acquire a 50 % interest in the Bachelor Lake Property, Halo Resources Inc. is currently proceeding with an underground diamond drilling program and preliminary results will be published as soon as they will be available.
