Metanor Drills 10.40 g/t Au Over 7.65m

Barry Pit Grows Again (East Meets West) - Still Open at Depth

VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC, CANADA--(Marketwire - June 11, 2009) - Metanor Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MTO) is pleased to announce preliminary results of a ongoing drilling campaign carried out on the Barry property which confirms further extensions of the pit towards the West zone and extended the mineralized zone which links the West zone (zone 45) with zone 43.

HIGHLIGHTS

- Diamond drill hole MB-09-385 returned an intersection of 3.04 g/t Au over 30.15m including 10.40 g/t Au over 7.65m at 50m to the west of hole MB-09-370 which returned 4.86 g/t Au over 27.0m.

- The northern branch of the main zone (East pit) was also extended over a distance of approximately 30 meters towards the west (totalling 80m) with diamond drill holes MB-09-379 and MB-09-380.

- Results obtained in all these below-noted mineralized zones, particularly the newly discovered mineralized zone located south of the granitic mass which represents the link between the West Zone and the Main zone (East Pit) confirm the potential for significant additional resources in all the gold bearing zones at Barry and is still open at depth.

DETAILS

A series of mineralized zones located to the south and between the east pit and the West zone were extended by drilling over a distance of more than 100m. This drilling program investigated the extension of mineralized zones extending between the Main zone (East pit) and the West zone located approximately 80m to the south of the open pit. This mineralized zone was first intersected on section 800 E in hole MB-09-370 which returned 4.86 g/t Au over 27.0m. It is interpreted as the western extension of Zone 43 and could be the central block linking the West zone and the Main zone (East pit) but displaced southward by north-south faulting.

The northern branch of the main zone (East pit) was also extended over a distance of approximately 30 metres towards the west (totalling 80m) with diamond drill holes MB-09-379 and MB-09-380. The latter allowed locating the extension of mineralized zones at shallow depth under a narrow granitic dyke. More to the west a channel sample taken across the northern branch on section 790E, or approximately 200m to the west of the actual pit, returned an intersection of 48.90 g/t Au or 5.19 g/t Au (Cut to 34.28 g/t) over 12.27m and as a result guarantees the continuation of diamond drilling in this sector.

Mineralized zones of the West Zone were also investigated towards east and west and have been extended at shallow depth towards west over a distance of 40m. These mineralized zones are joining a wide granitic mass to the west and extensions more to the west could be displaced southward by north-south faulting.

The true width is approximately 80 to 90 % of the core length obtained in diamond drill holes. Analyses were performed by fire assay at the Bachelor Mine laboratory with verification of some samples at the ALS Assay Laboratory in Val-d'Or, Quebec.
