MetaVis Migrates Both Microsoft Exchange Public Folders and Outlook to SharePoint

Classify and Migrate Exchange Folders, Email, Calendar and Tasks to SharePoint 2010, 2007 and Office 365

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - December 8, 2010) -  MetaVis Technologies, Inc., a leader in SharePoint migration and metadata management, today announced that MetaVis Migrator now allows customers to migrate and classify content from Exchange Public Folders and Outlook folders to SharePoint or Office 365. MetaVis Migrator customers will have the option of selecting this new module and eliminating the need for multiple migration tools. In addition, MetaVis has included the Exchange Public Folders and Outlook option for MetaVis Classifier, allowing customers to easily tag and organize Exchange and Outlook folder content in SharePoint.

With the new Exchange Public Folders and Outlook module, MetaVis Migrator users can easily drag and drop content from Exchange Public Folders and Outlook folders into SharePoint while maintaining the existing Exchange Public Folder structure or reclassify content. By supporting Outlook, MetaVis users can copy and share emails, calendar entries or entire calendars, tasks or contacts to help foster additional collaboration within SharePoint.

"MetaVis is unique in that it supports both Microsoft Exchange Public Folders and Outlook folders and items," said Steven Pogrebivsky, CEO and Co-founder of MetaVis Technologies. "As more companies migrate to SharePoint 2010 and Office 365 they are demanding migration products that include support for previous versions of SharePoint as well as file systems, public folders and email support. We now offer customers the option to include this extended support in one seamless SharePoint migration product. This adds more value and makes migrating easier to manage while speeding up the process."

With the Microsoft Exchange Public Folders and Outlook module, MetaVis Migrator customers will be able to:

  • Easily use the drag and drop feature for Exchange Public Folders or Microsoft Outlook to migrate content into SharePoint 2007, 2010, BPOS and Office 365;
  • Copy individual items such as files, messages, tasks, events, and contacts as well as folders creating corresponding lists or libraries in SharePoint;
  • Classify content from your email and Public Folder as you migrate to SharePoint;
  • Copy and move Outlook email to SharePoint sites for collaboration or e-Discovery; and
  • Perform Bulk SharePoint Migrations and copy entire Public Folders with data types and views.

The Exchange Public Folders or Outlook module is currently available as an add-on to the MetaVis Suite, Migrator or Classifier products. MetaVis Migrator is an easy-to-use SharePoint migration tool to move content and objects between SharePoint sites, site collection or servers as well as file systems. MetaVis Classifier provides software to organize SharePoint content and its metadata through bulk metadata tagging and placement. The MetaVis Suite is a complete set of tools that include SharePoint information architecture design, migration and classification software for organizing SharePoint 2010, 2007, 2003 or Office 365 content.
