method® Releases New Line of Cleaning Products

The Only Custom Designed 100% Post Consumer Recycled Plastic Bottles in Mass Market; New All-Purpose Cleaners, Bathroom Cleaner, Glass & Surface Spray -- Featuring New powergreen™ Technology

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 28, 2011) - method has released a new line of house cleaning products that relies on innovative green features to tackle seasonal spring-cleaning projects. This line of products uses the only custom designed 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottles in mass market and use formulations driven by method's trademarked powergreen™ technology.

As the leading maker of green cleaning products, raising the bar to 100% PCR plastic was a natural choice for method. "This new bottle design and the materials used in it are a great example of Cradle to Cradle product design, effectively using the plastic that's already on the planet in a beautifully executed package," says Drummond Lawson, director of greenskeeping at method. The benefits of using PCR plastic are threefold: existing plastics are saved from going to landfills, the resource use in the production of new virgin plastic is avoided, and a high-value market for recycled materials is created. Overall, PCR reduces the carbon emissions from plastic production by over 70%, compared to virgin plastics.

Following the pedigree of their past products, method's new cleaning line beautifully combines sustainability and great design. Through developing a super-clean supply chain for the recycled plastic, the normally cloudy PCR is crystal, sparkling clear. The sleeker, redesigned bottles are, of course, fully recyclable.

powergreen™ technology is cutting-edge green chemistry that harnesses the strength of naturally derived, non-toxic ingredients to deliver a mighty cleaning punch that rivals traditional cleaning products. It uses plant-based solvents and surfactants that are optimized to tackle tough soils specific to each cleaner type -- baked-on grease, fingerprints or soap scum. The result is a line of newly re-formulated surface cleaners that knock out dirt like never before.

method's product lines continue to prove that sustainability can be a foundation of great product design and top cleaning performance.
