MGE to Address Challenging Power and Cooling Issues at Server Blade Summit 2007

COSTA MESA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 26, 2007 -- MGE Office Protection Systems (www.mgeops.com) -- a world leader in providing end-to-end power protection systems for today's power hungry computing, IT, broadcast and industrial environments, has been invited to discuss current power and cooling challenges for the blade server environment at the sixth annual Server Blade Summit - Blades and Virtualization: The Perfect Marriage. The summit, being held on May 1-3 at the Anaheim, Calif. Marriott Hotel, is the only worldwide conference and exhibition dedicated to the rapidly emerging server blade segment. Serving on the Power and Cooling panel, Mr. Curtiz Gangi, MGE's vice president, will present "Power and Cooling - Managing Power in a Blade World."

During the presentation, Mr. Gangi will discuss how increased power requirements, power architecture change and power management demands pose important challenges and considerations for today's power hungry IT infrastructures. Blade servers have many benefits in terms of space utilization and potentially improved reliability; however, the very nature of high-density computing results in issues that must be addressed throughout planning, implementation and operation. Proper consideration of added cooling and power demands as well as changes in power delivery will assure that users achieve the optimum levels of availability with this new architecture.

In addition to this informative session, MGE will debut their new Pulsar MX UPS models -- in booth # 307 -- that have been designed specifically for protecting blade servers. The Pulsar MX uses a modular, redundant architecture that can scale power and runtime as demand increases or when higher levels of availability are required -- all in a compact and affordable system. These versatile power modules can be installed in rack or tower configurations for easy placement and offer modular designs that can accommodate changing server configurations, redundancy and backup time requirements that can provide up to 20 kVA or 15 kVA in redundant configurations using 5 kVA sub-modules, while hot-swappable components enable maximum uptime, even during maintenance operations. The systems' .09 power factor, wide input voltage window and excellent efficiencies that save energy and heat make the Pulsar MX the ideal power protection solution for dense computing environments.

The Server Blade Summit is the place to learn how to use server blades to reduce costs, modularize the data center, implement consolidation, and save space and energy. The program deals with server consolidation, virtualization, power and cooling, energy savings, storage, networking, management, architectures, and interconnects. The Summit includes tutorials, panels, keynotes, workshops, market research sessions, and exhibits. Attendees will be able to ask questions, see the latest products, meet key people, and participate in important discussions.
