Miami Capital Markets Activity Mirrors General Economy Recovery

Brokers, Venture Capitalists and Accredited Investors Are Encouraged to Register to Attend the Miami International Investment Conference June 9th

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - March 28, 2011) - According to reports in Bloomberg, employment picked up in March (the jobless rate held at 8.9 percent in March; it has fallen by 0.9 percentage point over the last three months, the biggest decline in such a time span since 1983.) and factory assembly lines kept increasing production, demonstrating that the recent increase in fuel costs has yet to hamper the U.S. expansion, economists said before reports this week.

Payrolls increased by 195,000 workers this month, the most since May, after a 192,000 advance in February, according to the median forecast of 62 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News ahead of Labor Department data on April 1. A survey of purchasing managers the same day may show that manufacturing grew at close to the fastest pace in seven years. Manufacturing payrolls are forecast to rise by 33,000, also matching the February increase.

Likewise, in the Miami Capital Markets Conference, 80% of presenting companies at the inaugural Miami International Investment Conference are reporting some sort of funding activity. Return engagement by presenting companies within the same 80% range.

Sunny Decker, CEO of Best Choice Software, said, "As a platinum sponsor and presenting company at the Miami International Investment Conference, Best Choice Software had a very unique and inside engagement with Raymond Oliver and Patrick A. Howell. We were thrilled to walk away with 7 potential buyout offers but even more telling, were the President and Executive Director's attention where Best Choice software received access to a national network of broker dealers as well as two financiers who know their way around a deal. MIIC was a very unique experience and we look forward to a return engagement."

In addition to funding events, MIIC's inaugural conference provided myriad corporate activity for presenting companies.

Aztec Solar Power (, boasting nearly $500M in contracts since 2010, established potential Caribbean-wide distribution through the Virgin Islands, Trinidad and Tobago as well as Barbados.

Edgewater Exploration (TSX-V: EDW) ( received introductions to NYC retail brokers Myers and Associates for continued market support.

Jeff Meyer, VP of Finance of K & M Oil and Gas, stated, "The idea of having a reception the night before the presentation was a great use of time and really allowed for more in-depth conversations. In truth I was able to solidify more relationships and opportunities during that reception than at the presentation piece. I am certainly looking forward to the next time that we can attend, but hopefully it won't have to be too soon as it looks like we may have some potential financing coming through!"

Joshua Knotts, Marketing Director of AmeriTech College, said, "We find that the most difficult part about raising growth capital is finding the audience that is willing to listen to your story. We have spoken at a number of events over the years with audiences in the hundreds. After having the opportunity to speak at your event, we were truly impressed by the quality of the participants at the MIIC."

MIIC keynote speaker Joseph Scime ( also reported, "I have participated in many Wall Street and industry conferences during my career and have advised the C-Suite and Board on issues such as increasing investor interest and demand for their stock in a Dodd-Frank and a competitive global capital market economy. The Miami International Investor conference was a five star venue and rivals some of the best. Numerous investors and business leaders expressed their interest in my evaluation of current investment regulations and value of an IRO with C-Suite and Board experience."

MIIC's sister conference, the San Diego Investment Conference ( will be held on May 7th, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla focusing on America's Economic Renewal, the Clean Technology industry and Biotechnology.
