Michigan Art Studio to Host "2nd Annual GLASS Pumpkin Fest Show and Sale"

October 16th & 17th Weekend Sale Will Feature Michigan Made Glass Pumpkins & Live Glassblowing Demonstrations

DEARBORN, MI--(Marketwire - September 8, 2010) - The harvest season becomes more memorable with collectible handcrafted glass pumpkins made from local Artists and Craftsmen from Dearborn, MI. The 2nd annual Glass Pumpkin Fest Show and Sale happens on October 16th & 17th from 10am-4pm. Admission is free for this all ages event and will feature more than 500 hand-blown glass pumpkins of various colors, sizes, and shapes for sale along with live glassblowing demonstrations all day. The show takes place at the Glass Academy,, located at 25331 Trowbridge, near Gulley Road and Michigan Avenue in West Dearborn.

"Visitors will also enjoy the opportunity to commission pumpkins of their choice during this two day event," states Lisa Neitzer, Operations Manager of the Glass Academy. "Shoppers can select from fantasy pumpkins, contemporary ones, traditional styles, and even a limited edition style created just for 2010."

"Since all our pumpkins are made locally right here in Dearborn, it's a great way to support your community and the people that work in your city making art," says owner Chris Nordin. "Our customer's dollar is spent in the neighborhood where the work was produced; now that's really buying local!"

Although there will be no real pumpkins in the pumpkin patch, the many different styles of our glass blown pumpkins, tucked among hale bales and corn stalks, will make you think there are. "I'm always delighted and amazed at the different varieties that I see here. I don't know how they do it!" says Gertraud Wagner, a customer of the Glass Academy. Items for sale will range in price from $10 to $500.
