Michigan State University to Implement Mobile Maintenance Management Solution From FAMIS Software and Dexterra

FAMIS Leverages the Dexterra Mobile Platform to Optimize Campus Maintenance & Repair Operations

IRVINE, CA and BOTHELL, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 5, 2005 -- FAMIS Software, Inc. and Dexterra, Inc. have teamed up to provide Michigan State University (MSU) with FAMIS Mobile™, a mobile software solution for 200 of the University's field service technicians. With FAMIS Mobile, MSU's facility technicians will be able to work more effectively and efficiently in any facility location across their expansive 5,200-acre campus.

With FAMIS Mobile operating on their handheld devices, three divisions of MSU's facility technicians, including trouble trucks, preventative maintenance (PM) and inspections crews, will have the ability to access detailed maintenance records for 660 buildings stored in the University's Oracle® database. FAMIS Mobile delivers fieldwork data to the existing FAMIS back-end application throughout the day, capturing updates -- such as modifications to work orders and project work hours. This eliminates the need to re-enter data at headquarters, boosting productivity while lowering operating costs. MSU technicians will be empowered with capabilities to issue on-site parts orders, input failure codes for future trends analysis, post labor hours, manage work orders and even have bar code scanning capabilities all at the point of service interaction.

"We examined a number of other mobility solutions that claim to streamline facilities maintenance work, but the partnership between FAMIS and Dexterra presented an option that was far superior," said Ron Flinn, Assistant Vice President, Physical Plant Division, MSU. "We appreciated the flexibility and future scalability that the FAMIS Mobile solution afforded our facilities maintenance operation. As a public University, it's of critical importance that we preserve our technology investments over the years. We've worked hard to achieve the lowest cost of maintenance per square foot in the country -- and this mobility solution will help drive that cost down even further."

FAMIS Software, Inc., developer of FAMIS, the leading integrated Enterprise Facilities Management solution has chosen Dexterra as their partner of choice on which to deliver FAMIS Mobile, a private labeled mobile solution for the maintenance and asset management industry.

"By powering FAMIS Mobile with Dexterra, we further our commitment in providing institutions like Michigan State University with the best facilities management software in the marketplace today," commented Mike Ellis, Founder and CEO of FAMIS Software, Inc. "FAMIS Mobile takes advantage of industry-standard XML Web services, enabling rapid, seamless, low-risk integration between all of the FAMIS applications. The real-world business benefit is that field personnel can finally access critical facility information from the field, with or without the availability of wireless service, which will save our clients time and money."

"With this partnership Dexterra continues to redefine how people work by delivering vertically-rich, highly adaptable and agile solutions that create immediate value for organizations right out of the box," said Rob Loughan, chairman and CEO of Dexterra. "Dexterra's award-winning platform empowers any business by delivering critical information and process support to their employees where they need it most; in the field. Coupled with FAMIS, we are providing an end-to-end solution for any organization requiring facilities and asset management capabilities outside the bounds of their office.
