Microbrasserie du Lievre Granted Financial Support from Government of Canada for Productivity Enhancement


MONT-LAURIER, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Jan. 18, 2014) - Canada Economic Development

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Microbrasserie du Lièvre has received financial assistance for the acquisition of high-technology equipment in order to expand its operations.

  • Microbrasserie du Lièvre is a Mont-Laurier microbrewery that produces a variety of specialty beers. The enterprise's products have earned it numerous prizes, including gold medal wins in both the prestigious Mondial de la bière competition and Canadian Brewing Awards.

  • The assistance announced today has been granted in the form of a $300,000 repayable financial contribution through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program.

  • Microbrasserie du Lièvre was destroyed by fire on January 18, 2013, and has since acquired a new building better suited to its needs as well as higher-performance equipment to increase its production capabilities and productivity.
