LAS VEGAS, NEVADA--(Marketwire - May 31, 2011) -

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) will preview a Windows operating system designed for tablets this week that will compete directly with Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) iPad, reports Bloomberg.

British chip designer ARM Holdings Plc created the technology used in both the iPad and Microsoft's yet be unveiled product. ARMH says it may start generating royalties from chips using its technology in Windows-based laptops and tablets as early as next year, President Tudor Brown told Bloomberg.

Microsoft's attempt to weaken Apple's grip on the tablet- computer market will likely be attempted this week as PC makers unveil new units at the Computex trade show in Taipei. Peter Misek, an analyst at Jefferies & Co. estimates annual sales for tablets sales will almost quadruple to 70 million devices this year. In the following three years, the annual total will more than triple to 246 million.

Fuel Technology

dPollution International(RMGX) recently announced positive test results for it's fuel efficiency technology conducted by the Italian army, as part of trials for possible sales to European armed forces. The company is moving ahead to conduct further testing with NATO battlefield vehicles, hoping to make good on their claim of major mileage improvements.

The company's flagship product improves engine performance by causing fuel to burn more efficiently in the combustion chamber. The technology works on all closed-combustion gas and diesel engines.
