MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 21, 2009) -

Editors Note: A video is included with this press release.

Microsoft Canada is making it easier to connect your digital world by incorporating activity updates from over 20 leading global and local Web services, including, Twitter, Digg and Facebook and in the coming months MySpace, into Windows Live. By partnering with the most popular places on the Web, Canadians now have an easy way to share the things they do online in one central place on Windows Live. Additionally, Canadians can now invite users to Windows Live from MySpace, Hi5 and Tagged (and vice versa), joining Facebook and LinkedIn as sites that allow you to safely and securely invite friends to join their Windows Live network.

Windows Live is a set of services from Microsoft that help bring together all the ways you communicate and share by giving you a single suite of services for IM, sending e-mail, or sharing photos and files you've created. With these partnerships, Canadians can keep their lives in sync and connect with the people and things that matter most to them online. Starting today, Canadians can choose to publish web activities from these global websites which are then automatically published to the Windows Live profile and exposed throughout the services including Messenger and Hotmail.

A recent MSN Canada / Harris/Decima survey revealed the average number of online profiles Canadians have to manage is seven while one in five Canadians claim to have 10 or more to keep track of. More than half of Canadians said they find it time consuming to log into all their online profiles and would love to have all their contact lists in one place.

"Conversational media continues to become an increasingly important part of Canadian Internet usage. We are connected, but Canadians have told us they are frustrated with their fragmented world," said Sumeet Khanna, Director, Windows Live Services, Consumer & Online Division, Microsoft Canada. "Windows Live solves this problem, by bringing all the web services that we know and love together into one digital hub."
