MidAmerican Plans $1.9 Billion Windfarm Build-Out in Iowa, an Industrial Info News Alert

SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwired - Jun 3, 2013) -  Written by John Egan for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- MidAmerican Energy Company (Des Moines, Iowa), a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK-A) (Omaha, Nebraska), recently announced that it wants to invest about $1.9 billion to build 1,050 megawatts (MW) of new wind power in Iowa by the end of 2015. The new-build program would involve constructing up to 656 new wind turbines. The utility has not yet decided where in Iowa it would place the facilities, nor has it selected an equipment manufacturer or an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company.
