Middletown Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza Opens Today, Offering Free Pizza Tomorrow

Louisville-Based Millennial Restaurant Group Opens Blaze Pizza in Middletown Commons

LOUISVILLE, KY--(Marketwired - Jun 29, 2015) - Since opening its first Louisville location last year, Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza, the nation's leading build-your-own pizza concept, has been offering a totally new take on one of America's favorite foods, "blazing" the trail of fast-casual pizza concepts. Today, the Millennial Restaurant Group (MRG) announced the opening of their second Louisville Blaze Pizza, at Middletown Commons. To celebrate, the new restaurant is offering FREE build-your-own artisanal pizzas to anyone who follows Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, tomorrow June 30, from 11:00am to 10:30pm.

Blaze Pizza is a modern day "pizza joint" known for its custom-built artisanal pizzas, freshly made salads, blood orange lemonade and s'more pies. The restaurant features an interactive assembly-line format that allows guests to choose from a list of signature pizzas, or create their own, choosing any toppings they like from a wide selection of house made sauces, fresh vegetables and hand-selected meats and cheeses -- all for under $8. The generously-sized 11-inch pizzas are then sent to the blazing hot oven where dedicated pizzasmiths ensure that the thin-crust pies are "fast-fire'd" and ready to eat in just 180 seconds.

The Middletown Commons Blaze Pizza was custom-built specifically to suit the 2800-square-foot space. Similar to the St. Matthews location, the restaurant boasts an industrial-inspired atmosphere with bold orange and red accents, an ode to the centerpiece of the restaurant -- the open-flame oven. The restaurant offers seating for 70 inside with an additional 30 seats on an outdoor patio.

"When we first brought Blaze Pizza to Louisville, we knew it would be a game changer," said Rodney Poston, Louisville resident and Operating Partner for Blaze Pizza in Kentucky. "Now, just a year later, we couldn't be more excited to open our second location, offering more Louisville pizza-lovers delicious, artisanal pizzas without the wait."

Blaze Pizza makes its dough from scratch using a recipe developed by critically-acclaimed Executive Chef Brad Kent ("The Pizza Whisperer"), which requires a 24-hour fermentation period to produce his signature light-as-air, crisp crust. The restaurant's menu also accommodates a range of dietary needs, by offering gluten-free dough and vegan cheese. The Middletown location will also offer a selection of wine and craft beer.

Located at 13317 Shelbyville Road in the new Middletown Commons Shopping Center just off of The Gene Snyder, near Academy Sports, the Middletown Blaze is the seventh MRG location to open. The Louisville-based MRG partnership consists of local restaurateurs James Patterson Sr., Jim Patterson II, Ulysses (Junior) Bridgeman, Wayne Albritton and Collins Cogan. The partnership plans to open more stores in Kentucky, including their first Lexington location later this summer.
