Midokura Appoints Industry Veteran Jim Lenox Vice President of Worldwide Sales

Appointment Strengthens Executive Team to Keep Pace With Growing Market Demand for MidoNet Network Virtualization Technology

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 24, 2013) -   Midokura, a global startup focused on network virtualization, today announced the appointment of Jim Lenox as Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Lenox will be responsible for driving global sales and operations for one of the fastest growing network virtualization companies in the world.

Lenox has more than 20 years of experience helping technology firms reach their full potential. Prior to joining Midokura, he spent 13 years at VMware and was instrumental in leading the build-out of VMware's worldwide field operations. Prior to VMware, Lenox held leadership and managerial roles at several high tech companies involved in software, communications and aerospace. Lenox also served as an officer in the United States Air Force for six years. He holds a Master of Science from the University of Southern California, a Master of Arts from the University of the Philippines and a Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University.

"Enterprises are struggling with the traditional networking challenges associated with virtual server environments," Lenox said. "Midokura has a winning combination of technical and market pedigree and will continue to simplify traditional networking with a new approach to network virtualization. I look forward to building the sales organization and expanding our global footprint."

MidoNet virtualizes the network stack for cloud platforms. It is a distributed, decentralized, multi-layer software-defined virtual network solution specifically designed for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). The approach not only adds automation that significantly reduces the human cost (OPEX) of managing the network, but also impacts the overall economics of cloud computing (CAPEX) by simplifying network requirements.

"Because our approach to network virtualization resonates with a multitude of audiences, we have experienced strong global market demand for MidoNet," said Dan Dimitriu, co-founder and CEO of Midokura. "Jim has a proven track record of advancing successful companies and he knows how to build and scale field operations to meet the expectations of both customers and partners."
