Midtown Business Radio Features Logistics Experts

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - July 22, 2015) - On June 12, 2015, Midtown Business Radio welcomed to the studio guest co-host Bo Wilkins with SoundRiver Advisors, Page Siplon with Team One Logistics, Enrique Alvarez with Vector Global Logistics and Michael Golden with Arnall, Golden, & Gregory. Host CW Hall sat down with these logistics experts to discuss workforce management, third party logistics (3PL), and the legal needs for the vertical. This panel came about as a follow-up to a previous Midtown Business Radio discussion with Jannine Miller, Director, Center of Innovation for Logistics at the Georgia Department of Economic Development, who talked with Hall about what the state of Georgia is doing to facilitate an effective, innovative infrastructure to support logistics needs for regional businesses.

Guest co-host Bo Wilkins is Partner with SoundRiver Advisors, an independent financial advisory firm that offers comprehensive investment and insurance solutions for clients seeking a smarter way to meet their financial goals. Wilkins spearheaded the in-studio panel of logistics experts. "My firm does a good bit of business in the logistics and transportation space which is huge to the economy," he explained. "I was very lucky to bring three people today that also play in the logistics space in three very distinct ways."

At its very basic, logistics is the detailed coordination of a complex operation involving many people, facilities, or supplies. As Page Siplon, CEO of Team One Logistics described, "Everything revolves around getting a product to a customer in one shape or form."

"I think everyone's impacted by logistics everyday, they just don't realize it," added Michael Golden, Partner at Arnall, Golden & Gregory, an Atlanta-based law firm that provides a variety of corporate legal expertise, one of which being logistics. Golden explained how important it is for the businesses operating within the logistics arena to have a relationship with a law firm with logistics experts on their team.

Vector Global Logistics Managing Director, Enrique Alvarez, came on and talked about how they use a consultative approach with their customers to maximize efficiency and cost savings for their client companies. "Logistics is one of those businesses that is very resilient. It's always been here, and it will continue to be here."
