Midtown Business Radio Talks IT Strategy With the City of Atlanta's CIO

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - June 18, 2015) - On May 12, 2015, Midtown Business Radio welcomed to the studio Samir Saini, CIO for the City of Atlanta. Host CW Hall spoke with Saini about his professional journey that led him to his recent appointment with the City of Atlanta.

As Chief Information Officer, Saini helps the City of Atlanta oversee and guide all technology-related activities associated with the delivery and products and services managed by every department of the City. According to Saini, "The vision of our department is to be recognized as an innovative, value-driven, customer-focused, effective information technology service provider."

Saini's background in technology began as an IT program manager with General Electric where he spent 10 years after completing their 2 year leadership training program. His IT career took him from GE to the MGM International Resorts conglomerate in Las Vegas. He returned to the Atlanta area several years ago, taking on a role with Atlanta's Housing Authority. In 2014, Atlanta's Mayor Kasim Reed appointed Saini to be the new CIO for the City.

Saini discussed several of the tech solutions he and his team are working on and several that are already implemented to the benefit of Atlanta residents. He also talked about the priorities for the City going forward to address the enormous tech needs of Atlanta's fast-growing business sector.
