Midwest Banc Holdings Prices Public Offering

MELROSE PARK, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 11, 2005 -- Midwest Banc Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: MBHI) today announced that on August 10, 2005, it priced its public offering of 3,000,000 shares of its common stock at $21.00 per share. Net proceeds to the company from the sale of this common stock are estimated to be $63.0 million before expenses. The underwriters in the offering have 30 days from the pricing date to purchase up to an additional 450,000 shares from the company to cover over-allotments, if any.
