Midwest Real Estate Data and 10K Research & Marketing Announce Agreement for Market Analytics

LISLE, IL--(Marketwire - Jun 20, 2011) - Midwest Real Estate Data LLC (MRED) ( and 10K Research and Marketing (10K) ( announced today that the organizations have entered into a licensing agreement to provide MRED's brokers, agents and appraisers with access to The Thing, an interactive market analytics tool.

The Thing will utilize MRED's massive property database to provide MRED's customers with instant access to nearly any view of the local housing market imaginable, all within an immersive, elegant, easy to use interface. With The Thing there are no complicated drop-down lists, no lengthy search menus, no complicated analytic charts and no long wait times for results.

"Having a deep understanding of your local housing market and being able to communicate information about that market in an understandable way are prerequisites for success as a real estate professional," said MRED's Chief Executive Officer, Russ Bergeron. "Today's consumer has access to more information than ever before. The Thing will give our customers -- real estate professionals -- the ability to deliver information highly relevant to that buyer or seller, and in a way they can easily understand and absorb. This is a market analytics tool that will help our brokers, agents and appraisers do more business."

The Thing is easy to use. In less than three clicks and three seconds, an MRED customer will be able to create charts that illustrate things like average days on market of condominiums in a specific neighborhood, months' supply of inventory of foreclosures at a certain price point in a specific geographic area, pending sales of single family detached lakeshore homes in a specific area or the median sales price of three bedroom short sales in a specific city.

"The Thing allows me to drill down to the local market and flesh out what's really happening in the neighborhoods I serve," said Aaron Dickinson, Broker Associate, Edina Realty. "The information I glean allows me to better counsel my clients and gives me a great rebuttal to some of the national housing indexes that make overly broad statements about the market."

"MRED is one of the most respected MLS organizations in the world," said 10K's Chief Executive Officer, Mark Allen. "We are excited they have selected 10K to bring The Thing to their MLS, and look forward to hearing how their subscribers benefit from using this interactive market analytics tool."
