Mike Long and Dick Monfort to Co-Chair Denver Zoo's Do At The Zoo Gala

Long and Monfort Will Preside Over Zoo's Largest Fundraiser to Support Education

Mike Long is the chairman, president and chief executive officer of Arrow Electronics, Inc., a global provider of products, services and solutions to industrial and commercial users of electronic components and enterprise computing solutions. He is also active in the Young Presidents' Organization, a global peer networking group that, among other values, shares a commitment to learning as a lifelong adventure. Long is a long-time Zoo supporter and has served on the Zoo's board since 2003.

Dick Monfort is the owner, chairman and chief executive officer of the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club. He is also the chairman of the board of directors of University of Colorado Health, chairman of the University of Northern Colorado Board of Trustees and a supporter of the Colorado State University's Monfort Excellence Fund, which aids the university's very best students and young faculty and benefits the Northern Colorado community by bringing world leaders to CSU through the Monfort Lecture series. Like Long, Monfort is also a long-time Zoo supporter and has served on the Zoo's board since 2004.

Denver's favorite summer party and the Zoo's largest fundraiser will not disappoint, highlighting Denver's best restaurants, beverages and entertainment at one of the wildest local venues. Do At The Zoo will be presented by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Proceeds from this year's event support Denver Zoo's education efforts, which aim to ignite a passion for science in young children through programs at the Zoo, as well as outreach in the community. Each year, the Zoo's Education Department serves roughly 215,000 individuals through its programs, which bring science education alive. The Zoo strives to make these programs accessible to those who may not otherwise have the opportunity, through scholarships, outreach, bilingual delivery and more.

Do At The Zoo kicks off on Thursday, June 18 at 6 p.m. for the early entrance VIP Party and at 7 p.m. for regular ticket holders. Guests also will enjoy music, drinks, dancing and close-up animal encounters in the incomparable setting of Denver Zoo at twilight.
