Olympic Sailor to work at North's Toronto Loft

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 10, 2009) - Olympic Silver Medalist Mike Wolfs has joined the North Sails team in Toronto, Canada. An experienced sailmaker and professional sailor, Wolfs will help strengthen North's team in the Toronto area with his expertise in numerous one design classes along with his 10,000+ miles of open ocean sailing experience. "We are thrilled that Mike is now part of the North Sails team," said president Gary Weisman. "North Sails always looks for sailors and sailmakers who can broaden our knowledge base and bring fresh ideas and value to our clients," he said.

Born and raised in the Toronto area, Wolfs spent fifteen years working in a sail loft prior to coming onboard with North Sails and spent 12 years as a member of the Canadian National Sailing Team. "Mike will be a huge asset to our clients and our sales and sail care team here in the Toronto area," said Hugh Beaton who manages the loft located in Mississauga. "One Design sailing continues to grow here in Canada and having a team member who has actively raced in the Star, J/22, J/24, Etchells, Farr 40, Melges 32, Melges 20 and Melges 24 classes is invaluable," continued Beaton.

"I'm committed to the highest level of performance for my customers and North Sails delivers top performance sails through focus on design, people and service," said Wolfs. "I look forward to representing North Sails and sharing and learning from other members of the North Sails team to better serve my clients," concluded Wolfs.
