MILESTONE's Video Conferencing Lunch & Learn Attracts Diverse Industries and Departments

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 1, 2011) - These days it is not only the high tech companies that are taking advantage of video conferencing technologies. Real estate, health care, cosmetics, finance and other industries understand the instant benefits and cost savings associated with bringing video conferencing technologies into their environments.

This month, system engineers demonstrated Cisco TelePresence technologies at an event in San Jose, California. Milestone Technologies (MILESTONE) launched an intimate Video Conferencing Lunch and Learn event at a restaurant in Santana Row, inviting clients and business leaders to learn about Cisco TelePresence systems and to take part in hands on demonstrations.

Cisco video conferencing expert and speaker, Joseph Hernan along with his team located at various endpoints, demonstrated the application possibilities for sales, health care, training and everyday meetings. This was followed by MILESTONE's system engineers answering technical and integration questions one-on-one with participants. Even with diverse representation of industries at the event, what really is telling are the various departments driving video conferencing within their companies. Notably, business decision makers from human resource departments are driving the many use cases.

Because of the success and superb amount of interest, MILESTONE is planning a multi-city tour for Video Conferencing Lunch and Learns in the near future. MILESTONE concluded that converging in smaller groups made this a successful event. Here's why. Vice President of Sales, Chris Kloes explained, "We have seen and ourselves have been through seminars and talks where senior IT managers and directors are herded into big halls and talked at. Attendees do not talk. No one asks questions. Those types of events need more interaction."

Demonstrated equipment included the popular Cisco TelePresence System EX90 that sits on a desktop and also acts as a regular monitor; the powerful Codec C40; and the immersive 52-inch Profile Single. Cisco TelePresence Systems offer a broad portfolio of immersive, multipurpose and personal endpoints to meet the needs of organizations of all sizes.

Cisco TelePresence systems instantly help accelerate decision making. Being face-to-face with employees and clients improves communications, enhances productivity, and boosts organizational control and teamwork. Many companies are already using video during recruiting interviews, while others are using the perks of reduced travel time to attract job seekers.
