Military Training Near Wesleyville Ontario

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 17, 2014) - Approximately 150 army reservists from The Ontario Regiment (Royal Canadian Armoured Corps), the Governor Generals Horse Guards and the Queen's York Rangers will be participating in Exercise WORTHY LANCE located in and around Wesleyville North to Hastings, Ontario from April 25-27.

This two-day training event will take place within Port Hope Township from Wesleyville to Rice Lake and the town of Hastings. Soldiers and military vehicles may be seen on local roadways conducting various simulated exercises. While they could be carrying field equipment and service weapons, soldiers will not be carrying live ammunition.

The Regiments are using this training to conduct a variety of reconnaissance tactics and hone individual and small group patrolling skills, which will prepare soldiers to operate in a variety of environments both domestically and overseas.
