Millburn Dentist Begins Training for NYC Marathon

MILLBURN, NJ--(Marketwired - April 27, 2016) - Dr. Scott Krosser, an esteemed Millburn family dentist, has hit the ground running this spring as he trains for the prestigious New York City Marathon.

Dr. Krosser will run this year's 26.2-mile race to raise money for the National Parkinson Foundation. He began training for the marathon in November 2015 -- around the time of last year's marathon. Dr. Krosser first ran the marathon in 2006.

"I'm excited and eager to take on this challenge and return to this extraordinary race," Dr. Krosser said. "My patients and staff have been extremely supportive of my goal, and I can't wait to share my results."

When the starting gun goes off for this year's race, Dr. Krosser will have trained for 12 months and covered 1,000 miles. The New York City Marathon, set for Nov. 6, is more than a one-day event. The marathon is a weeklong celebration that includes family activities and the New York City Marathon Health and Wellness Expo.

Last year, about 50,000 people crossed the finish line of the New York City Marathon, many of whom were running to support local and national charities. Runners are guaranteed entry to the marathon when they support a charity and meet the official pledge requirements.

Dr. Krosser's charity, the National Parkinson Foundation, requires runners to contribute $2,500 in pledges. The National Parkinson Foundation provides awareness and support for the more than 1 million Americans who are living with Parkinson's disease.

"I'm proud to have connected with such an incredible foundation for the race," Dr. Krosser said. "It will be a thrill to be among so many incredible runners, as well as those who are dedicated to wellness and supporting these great organizations."
