Miller Energy Resources Secures Gas Sales Agreement

Expected to Bring Aggregate Production to Approximately 2,000 BOEPD

ANCHORAGE, AK--(Marketwired - May 6, 2013) - Miller Energy Resources, Inc. ("Miller Energy" or the "Company") (NYSE: MILL) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Cook Inlet Energy (CIE) has secured a new commercial gas sales agreement. Although details outlining the terms of the agreement have not yet been disclosed, CIE will commence contractual gas sales during the month of May at an estimated amount of 1 to 3 million cubic feet per day.

The company will primarily deliver gas on the new agreement with production from the RU-3 and RU-4 wells on its Osprey platform and will continue efforts to secure future agreements for its gas fields, including the exploratory targets at Otter, Olson Creek, and Kroto Creek.

"We are very pleased with the execution of the new contract and what it means for Miller's production numbers," said Scott M. Boruff, CEO of Miller Energy. "We have been running RU-3 and RU-4 at less than their full potential flow rates. This new contract allows us to optimize well production, bringing additional return on investment in our Cook Inlet assets while continuing to provide sufficient gas to run our own operations."

By increasing production to fulfill sales under the new agreement, the Company projects its overall production for Alaska and Tennessee will have grown to approximately 2,000 BOEPD which does not account for additional amounts expected in coming weeks as the RU-2 sidetrack is completed and the well is brought into production.
