Miller Named VP-Claims at Uni-Ter


ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - March 30, 2011) - Jonna Miller, Senior Claims Examiner, has been promoted to Vice President-Claims at Uni-Ter Underwriting Management Corporation (UUMC), Sanford "Sandy" Elsass, President and Chief Executive Officer, announced.

Uni-Ter is a Managing General Underwriter that builds and administers Risk Retention Groups (RRG) in the healthcare industry. RRGs managed by Uni-Ter provide liability insurance to long-term care facilities and nurses in 48 states and medical malpractice insurance for physicians/surgeons in New York and neighboring states.

"Jonna will be responsible for claims services to RRGs managed by Uni-Ter," said Donna Dalton, Chief Operating and Financial Officer. "Since joining Uni-Ter in early 2009, Jonna has demonstrated outstanding skills in handling all types of healthcare liability claims. She is well qualified to manage our claims department," Dalton added.

Before joining Uni-Ter, Miller was Litigation Supervisor and Branch Manager of Caronia Corporation in Atlanta. Her specialty is physicians and surgeons malpractice insurance. She also has experience handling claims for long-term care facilities and hospitals.

Miller is a licensed adjuster in a number of states and holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation from the Insurance Institute of America where she served as an Adjunct Professor. She has taught classes in Risk Management, Risk Control, and Risk Financing at Georgia State University.
