Millions of Californians Face Critical Health Care Choices During Fall Open Enrollment

Updated, Online Health Care Quality Report Cards Are an Essential Tool for Making Informed Choices; Webinar and Press Briefing, Wednesday, October 15, 9:30 AM PDT

SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 8, 2014) -

WHAT:
A press briefing for the California Office of the Patient Advocate's (OPA) update of the California Health Care Quality Report Cards.

Reporters who join the conference call will gain insight on how to analyze the online report cards for performance results of interest to their local audiences.

Choosing the health care plan that best meets family needs is critical, yet many people spend more time researching the best restaurant for dinner than they do checking out the quality of their health coverage options, according to Elizabeth Abbott, OPA Director and long-time consumer advocate.

The Report Cards detail how California's commercial HMOs, PPOs, and over 200 medical groups rate on quality of clinical care as well as on member experience.

Linda Leu joins the call to add perspective on the importance of quality and service ratings to a new generation of health care consumers.
