Minimalistech Launches Meal Diary to Help You Manage How Much You Eat Using Your iPhone

Stay on Track With Your Diet by Effortlessly Tracking Your Meals on Your iPhone or iPod Touch

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwire - December 16, 2008) - Minimalistech, a new Silicon Valley Company, announced today the release of the new version of their iPhone application Meal Diary, introducing a new approach for measuring and managing how much you eat. This pragmatic approach provides an effective way of tracking your meal intake by providing three options for each meal type (e.g., breakfast, snack), and three options for size (small, medium and large). Meal Diary assigns a value to the type-size combination and adds this value to the daily counter. The main screen displays the value for the current day next to the weekly daily average and the historical daily average so you can easily visualize your progress.

"Most meal tracking systems are too complex, making the task time consuming. As a result people end up not doing it. By simplifying this process, Meal Diary lets you track a meal in a few seconds making it easy to incorporate meal tracking into your daily routine. Meal Diary is a great complementary tool if you are on a diet, if you want to lose weight, or just for staying under control. Meal Diary is about providing awareness," said Juan Gargiulo, the creator of Meal Diary.

What differentiates Meal Diary from conventional meal tracking tools is that you don't have to keep track of nitty gritty details such as the grams consumed, the calorie content, etc., which become less relevant given that you tend to follow a consistent eating pattern and given that all you need is to control how much you eat. Meal Diary also allows setting the date and time for each meal, so you can make your entries right after a meal or at the end of the day.

Meal Diary also lets you log your weight, and provides user-friendly charts of the daily value, the daily number of meals, and the daily weight across time. When looking at these three charts in conjunction you can easily contrast food intake with weight loss.
