The Mining Association of British Columbia: Mexico's Mining Minister to Attend Vancouver Mining Conference

Inaugural Asia Pacific Forum on Mining and Minerals attracting international participation

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 25, 2007) - The Mining Association of British Columbia is pleased to announce that Norberto Roque Diaz de Leon, Mexico's General Coordinator of Mining, has been confirmed to attend the Asia Pacific Forum on Mining and Minerals, taking place at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver from September 30 to October 3, 2007.

As Mexico's General Coordinator of Mining, Norberto Roque Diaz de Leon's mandate is to attract national and international investment, and to analyze and propose policies that will enhance competitiveness and employment in the mining sector.

Between 2004 and 2006 Mr. Roque served as Undersecretary of Agribusiness, in the Ministry of Agriculture. From 2000 to 2004 he worked as General Director of the Financial Institution of the Ministry of Economy, (Fideicomiso de Fomento Minero), in which he worked to enhance Mexico's small and medium-sized mining companies, particularly through value-added mineral activities.

Norberto Roque is a Chemical Engineer, and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

The Asia Pacific Forum on Mining and Minerals will bring together internationally renowned speakers, senior executives, government officials, leading academics, First Nations and senior NGOs involved in all facets of the Asia Pacific mining and minerals industry.

Among the 50 key speakers at the conference are: Hon. David Emerson, Minister of International Trade; former Prime Minister Jean Chretien; Lukas Lundin, Chairman of Lundin Mining Corporation; Doug Horswill, Teck Cominco's Senior Vice-President of Environment and Corporate Affairs; Eric Nonacs, Managing Director for Global Affairs at Endeavour Financial and Senior Advisor to William J.
