Minister Ashfield Lends His Support to New Brunswick Exhibitors at the China Fisheries and Seafood Expo

Minister Ashfield lent his support to New Brunswick exhibitors at the China Fisheries and Seafood Expo yesterday, where he met with many potential buyers and sellers at what is the largest trade show of its kind in Asia.

Exports of fish and seafood from New Brunswick were valued at approximately $783 million in 2010, of which approximately $58 went to Asia (consisting mainly of herring, snow cab, lobster, other crab, and eel). China and Japan remained important markets for exports from the province, with values of $5 million and $44 million respectively in 2010.
